Parents, join us on a zoom call Jan 20 @ 6:30 to hear all about summer camp opportunities for your scout. We have two amazing summer camps we will be taking groups to. Summer camp is a great opportunity for scouts to earn merit badges, rank advancement and have a blast with their troopmates. Camp signup deadlines will come very soon. Zoom info for meeting is in the troop calendar on 454.org
High adventure is beginning to shape up for 2023. If you're looking for opportunities to challenge yourself and see some great natural parts of the US, look no further.
It is incredible that we are already to September. After a school year that seemed to drag on and on, our summer seemed to fly by with so many scouting adventures. We had scouts earning merit badges and ranks at Lost Pines; high adventure crews hiking at Philmont, whitewater kayaking at Summit, horseback riding at BTSR; and finally scouts going for it all with rafting, rock climbing, and more at Camp Alexander in Colorado. Thank you to all the adult leaders who chaperoned these amazing experiences and to all the parents who supported their scouts attending.
The Troops 454 Community-Raiser with Mobile Loaves and Fishes was a smashing success! We collected cleaning supplies for 9 homemaking bundles for new residents of the Community First! Village, and we blew our initial fundraising goal of $6,000 out of the water by raising $10,046. Way to go, scouts & supporters!
Our Community-Raiser is finishing strong! We have collected over $8,500 for Mobile Loaves & Fishes to date, and the number of donations keeps increasing, with 10 more in the last 24 hours alone; we're up to 62 individual donations and counting... I can't wait to see what y'all do by Tuesday!
