=========== April 2009=========

The final campout of Spring 2009 was held near Spring Branch, Texas on the Guadalupe River for a day of canoeing and kayaking on the river. Although the water level was low, the proliferation of water guns made up for the water level as virtually everyone endured some degree of saturation.

TROOP MEETINGS: Tuesdays, 7p.m. @ River Bend Quads
Troop meetings are run by the scouts. We plan troop events and usually work on merit badge or advancement activities.

NEXT CAMPOUT: The monthly campouts will resume with the start of the 2009/2010 school year in the fall. A candidate list of camping activities has been compiled for the next year, subject to refinement as necessary:
September-Colorado Bend SP     October-Kayaking at Port Aransas
November-Climbing/hiking at Enchanted Rock      December-Winter Camp
January-Rifle Shooting      February-Spelunking
March-Camporee      April-River Canoeing/Kayaking

SUMMER CAMP : This year summer camp will be at Lost Pines from July 12 -17. Contact Mr. Gerling for more information.

YELLOWSTONE HIGH ADVENTURE :
Troop454 camped through a true blizzard at Yellowstone in June 2008 and had one of the most memorable summer trips imaginable. Rest assured, if you went on this trip you you experienced something you will not likely forget. While there was grumbling during the coldest days, this is certain to become the subject of bragging rights for a long time coming!
